DeSantis Shoots Down Taxpayer-Funded Trump Legal Help

Governor Ron DeSantis shoots down the idea that Florida taxpayers would be on the hook for Trump’s legal bills.

Look, I get that Donald Trump has been unfairly prosecuted and I get the anger many feel about it BUT the notion that taxpayers in Florida or anywhere else should help fund his legal battles, is ridiculous.

But that is exactly the idea some Florida Republicans came up with. State Senator Ileana Garcia filed a bill for this year’s legislative session that would’ve allowed the state to dole out up to $5 million to ease Trump’s legal bills.

Well, that idea was short-lived because Governor Ron DeSantis threatened to veto it right out the gate, and as he should.

I get loyalty to Trump but the thought of a state handing out money to a political candidate’s legal defense fund is pretty ludicrous.

Donald Trump is a billionaire and has a grassroots movement behind him, he can handle his own affairs and he should.
