Retired NYPD inspector Paul Mauro joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to share his reaction to a federal court in New York unsealing dozens of documents on Wednesday relating to the sex trafficker and disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein
“Everybody thought that this was going to be some nice, neat list and we were going to get this recognizable list that says, okay, here are the bad people that went Epstein’s pedo island, you know, and it’s not accurate. What we’re getting is court documents that came out in the civil case that Virginia Giuffre brought against Maxwell, and that includes depositions, which are interviews relative to a civil case and other court documents, letters back and forth. You can see attorneys for individual John Does, pinging the judge and saying, please don’t release my client. There are other equities. He’s got danger back in his home country. So clearly there are a lot of high profile people here and they have money for lawyers. And all I would say is that, you know, we don’t know, about only a fraction of what’s going to come out has come out. They’re doing it on a rolling basis. Probably, my gut tells me, probably because the clerks are a little overwhelmed and they’re going through everything to do redactions. There are all kinds of rules for what you can and can’t release. But what I would say is we don’t know what else is coming, but they know. If you were on that island, you know this is actually coming. If half of Congress is gone tomorrow, you know, if all of a sudden all these people in Hollywood are suddenly, well, you know, he’s spending time with family and is not reachable at this point, you’re gonna know what’s going on.”
Jimmy and Paul also try and make sense of how Epstein became a billionaire, and why he was friends with so many famous people. Listen to the podcast to hear what else he had to say!
