Evening Edition: Biden Administration Under Pressure Over Red Sea Attacks
The United States is facing increasing pressure to find a solution to the deteriorating safety of commercial shipping in the Red Sea. The Iran-backed Houthi militant group has claimed responsibility for yet another missile attack, this time on a MSC Mediterranean Shipping boat, which brings the total number of attacks to over twenty one. While U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced a formation of a multinational coalition to secure the waterway, attacks seem to be escalating as shipping companies predict more interruptions in operations.
FOX’s Eben Brown speaks with Victoria Coates, Vice President of the Heritage Foundation’s Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy, and was the former Deputy National Security Advisor during the Trump Administration, who says it is a very troubling situation that needs to be addressed in a way that gives Iran a clear message.
