Former South Carolina Governor and 2024 GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to explain how her recent momentum in New Hampshire is an indication that the race to secure the Republican presidential nomination is far from over, despite former President Trump’s sizeable lead in the polls.
“It’s not that we don’t appreciate President Trump’s service. I appreciate his service. I know that he didn’t get a moment’s peace or an ounce of credit. It is about the fact that I don’t want my kids to grow up like this. I don’t want a country like this. And we can do better. And this is a time where we have too many threats around the world to be putting our head in the sand. And this is a time where you look at the younger generation. They don’t know how they’re going to get a job. They don’ know how they’re going to afford rent. They don’t know when they’re ever going to be able to afford a home. And then there’s, you know, protests on college campuses. This is about not just thinking four or eight years. This is about where do we want to go, 10, 20, 30 years out. We owe it to our country to do that. And so, look, I mean, I think that’s what we have. We have a chance to do something really great here. And I think the people of Iowa are getting it. I think the people of New Hampshire are saying, we’re going to do this. And I think the people in my sweet state of South Carolina are going to help us get it. And, you know, I think that we have a country to save. I think everybody knows that. And we’re going to fight until the very end. We’re not letting our foot off the gas at all.”
The former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. also tells Jimmy why she strongly disagrees with the decision by the Colorado State Supreme Court to disqualify Trump from the state’s 2024 ballot.
“I was infuriated by this. I mean, look, I don’t think Donald Trump needs to be the next president. I think I need to be the next president. I think that would be good for the country. But I want to beat him fair and square. We don’t need to have judges deciding who should and shouldn’t be on the ballot. That is so dangerous to do that. And that is totally undermining the will of the people. I trust Americans to make that decision. I trust the people of Colorado to make that decision. And the people of Colorado should be furious. But what I don’t like is, where is Joe Biden? Why has he not stood up and said, this is wrong? Where are the Democrats? I mean, how can they say that this is okay? Because yes, while they might be doing this to Donald Trump, this could happen to them too. And in a time when we need to have more freedom, more individual liberty, less government control, less mandates, this is the total opposite. And that’s exactly what people don’t like. It’s exactly what we’re fighting. And the fact that Joe Biden is unbelievably silent on this is so telling of where he wants to take our country.”
