Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX-21) on Trump’s Primary Challenge Call: “Par for the Course… Get Out of the Basement… and Debate Ron DeSantis”

Congressman Chip Roy, Representative for Texas’ 21st Congressional District, member of the House Judiciary, Rules, and Budget Committees, and Policy Chair of the House Freedom Caucus, joined guest host Harry Hurley on the Guy Benson Show today to talk about the latest attacks against him from President Trump. The calls for a primary are empty from Trump, as the primary window has passed. One possible source of the dig at Rep. Roy stem from the upcoming election in 2024, as Rep. Chip Roy has endorsed Governor Ron DeSantis for president. Finally, Rep. Roy also talks about Governor DeSantis’ record as a governor, and he lays the case for DeSantis to become the next POTUS.  Listen to the full interview below.

Roy had this to say on Trump’s call for Rep. Roy to be voted out in the GOP primary:

“I mean, that’s just kind of par for the course, right? I mean, kind of focusing on the on personalities rather than on what we’re trying to achieve as a party… I wouldn’t have any real reason to highlight distinctions if President Trump were willing to get out of the basement along with President Biden and come out and debate Ron DeSantis. Why wouldn’t he do that?… I think we all know the answer.”
