Erika Donalds: How the Migrant Crisis is Affecting Public Education in the United States

Erika Donalds, Guest Faculty at the Leadership Institute’s School Board Programs, Visiting Fellow on Education Freedom at the Heritage Foundation & wife of Congressman Byron Donalds, joined Ross Kaminsky on the Guy Benson Show to discuss the latest on education news in Florida and around the country. Donalds discussed the latest on school choice in the state of Texas and why it is important for parents from across the county to continue to support school choice. Donalds also discusses the importance of finding new ways to cut down on absent students and to get students involved back in schooling post-COVID. Donalds had this to say on the influx of migrants into America’s education system:

“The American system is not doing a great job already. When you talk about a million students coming into the system without a corresponding increase in budget in resources, that’s only going to take away the much needed resources for American children who are already falling far to find.”
