Fox Sports College Football Analyst Joel Klatt joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to preview the highly-anticipated matchup between Ohio State and Michigan, which will take place on Saturday in Ann Arbor.
“I think that Kyle is an interesting aspect of this game because you can make the argument that in the last four weeks, Ohio State has taken care of every other question that they had. The defense is really good. One of the best defenses in America, and they don’t give up big plays. They can rush the passer. I think we saw that last week with Jack Sawyer’s big day. Then you also have a run game that has developed into something that is much more reliable than it was to start the year. And Treveon Henderson is now healthy at the running back position. The O-line is playing great and you have the great wide receivers led by Marvin Harrison Jr. on the outside. So the only real question I have for Ohio State in the way that they play in this game is their quarterback, Kyle McCord. He’s totally unproven in a scenario and a scene in a location like he’s about to face in Ann Arbor. And the bottom line is this. He has the potential to play really well. If he does that, man, I really like Ohio State. But if he doesn’t and they’ve got to manage around his game like they’ve had to do against Penn State and Maryland earlier in the season, then Michigan’s going to have the advantage. This is what I love about this game is that it is such a tight game. Both of these teams know how they win. They know who they are and they’re going to go try to impose their will on the opponent. And you get that in that environment with that amount of vitriol, not only between teams but between the fan bases, it’s going to be an incredible environment.”
Joel also tells Jimmy whether he thinks the recent three-game suspension of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh has hurt the team in any way. To hear what else he had to say, listen to the podcast!
