Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to shed light on how his new book, Unwoke: How to Defeat Cultural Marxism in America can help us better understand why there is an alarming amount of antisemitism on many college campuses throughout the U.S. in response to Hamas’ brutal attack against Israel.
If you look at the top four leaders of Hamas, they’re collectively worth $11 billion. They fly in private jets. But this is actually consistent with Marxists across the world. If you look at Marxist leaders, Fidel Castro was a multibillionaire. Raul Castro was a multi-billionaire. Vladimir Putin might be the richest man in the world, the multi-billionaire. Marxists, they live in opulent luxury while they oppress everyone else. And I’ll tell you, this book Unwoke, it explains why it is that what’s happening is happening. It goes through, you know, Karl Marx in the Communist Manifesto, he laid out a world view that we’re in constant conflict between oppressors and victims. Now, he viewed it from a socioeconomic lens, so for him, the oppressors were the owners of capital, and the victims were the proletariat, the workers. And his solution was a violent revolution of the proletariat, the workers. to overthrow the oppressors. I describe in the book Unwoke how in the 1960s and 70s, the Marxists infiltrated our universities, became tenured professors and administrators. There it mutated to all sorts of forms. But today, you know, I was recently talking with a very successful tech entrepreneur from Silicon Valley, who’s a Democrat, a man of the Left. And he asked me, he said, why is there such horrible anti-Semitism on the Left? And I explained to him that today’s radical Left, they have coded Jews as oppressors. And they have coded Palestinians as victims. And so the cultural Marxists support the violent revolution and overthrow by the victims of the oppressors. And it’s why you’re seeing cultural Marxists celebrate the atrocities of Hamas, because that is what they actively support.”
