Anchor of “Varney & Co.” on Fox Business Stuart Varney joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to give his take on a new poll from The New York Times/Siena College which has former President Trump beating President Biden in five key battleground states in a hypothetical 2024 rematch.
“The Biden-Harris team cannot win. I mean, that’s just a fact of life and the Democrats know it. Heaven knows what is going on behind closed doors and on the phone lines all across this weekend. And it started with that New York Times poll that thumped onto the ground on Saturday morning, showing that in five battleground states, Trump beats Biden by a margin above the margin of error. In other words, if the election were today, Trump is the president because he gets the Electoral College votes. Now, when that poll emerged, I mean, that was like a five alarm fire ringing in the Democratic halls of power, so to speak, because they realize they’ve got to get him out, but they don’t know how to get him out. How do you get a sitting president with an incompetent vice president, how are you going to both out? There is no way you can do that short of persuading him somehow or other. Maybe Jill Biden comes into play here. You know, honey, your day is here, you shouldn’t be doing this anymore. That’s what it will take. Persuasion. Because there’s no way of firing a sitting president.”
Stuart and Jimmy also talk about former Obama adviser David Axelrod suggesting it may be “wise” for Biden to drop out of the 2024 race. Listen to the podcast to hear what else he had to say!
