The House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer released a memo detailing evidence of the Biden family’s foreign business dealings, including redacted bank records which the GOP claims will reveal millions of dollars in payment to Hunter Biden from Russian and Kazakhstani oligarchs. House Oversight says they believe they can tie the folks contributing millions to Hunter’s businesses abroad to President Biden himself. Congressman Pat Fallon (R-TX) argues there is a concerning pattern with Hunter Biden’s business dealings and says he believes eventually the evidence will uncover a massive political scandal. On the Rundown, Rep. Fallon explains what Hunter Biden’s bank documents reveal, the Democrats’ response to them, and the continued search for a smoking gun in this investigation.

Earlier this week, voters in an Ohio special election rejected a measure that would have made it more difficult to change the state’s constitution. The current system required a simple majority to make amendments; however, the defeated GOP-backed measure had proposed raising the threshold to a 60 percent supermajority. Many pundits and pro-choice activists warned that if passed, this would severely curtail Ohioans’ ability to pass the abortion rights amendment scheduled for a state ballot initiative in November. While the vote is still months away, this sets the stage for Ohio voters to codify abortion rights. On the podcast, Kyle Kondik, Managing Editor at Sabato’s Crystal Ball, breaks down why this special election was indirectly a vote on abortion rights, why this Republican-backed measure was defeated, and how this will affect Ohioans on the November ballot.
