Fox News Political Analyst Gianno Caldwell joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to share his thoughts on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ recent 2024 presidential campaign shakeup, and whether this will ultimately help his poll numbers.
“Throughout his political history, he’s done these campaign shakeups before. And I think it’s necessary because even though he’s been number two to Trump, it doesn’t really look like he’s been closing that gap. And I’m not sure that he’ll be able to. I think he should stay in the race because you never know what could happen with Trump. He’s also older, so you don’t really know what’s going to happen. And I do also think that Ron DeSantis could potentially do a great job at reforming the government, reforming the justice system, the military, whatever is necessary. I think he could potentially do a great job at that. But right now it seems like the people really want Trump. And I I’ll be honest with you, I was at the beach with some friends over the weekend, one of them happens to be a liberal woman. And she was saying that she would she would rather have Trump as president than Ron DeSantis. So, I mean, clearly, Ron is hitting a cord with some of these folks, that they would rather have Trump over him, which is kind of surprising to me. But that’s kind of the direction that a lot of people are going in at this point.”
