In the Justice Department Inspector General’s report released Tuesday, it was revealed that the jail holding convicted sex trafficker and financier Jeffrey Epstein was plagued with significant negligence and misconduct issues that ultimately allowed Epstein to commit suicide while imprisoned. While ruled a suicide by the FBI, the report aimed to further understand the systematic issues that led a powerful prisoner on suicide watch to gain the opportunity and materials to kill themselves.
