Co-Anchor of “America’s Newsroom” and co-host of “The Five” Dana Perino joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to share her thoughts on the escalating feud between the perceived top two 2024 GOP presidential primary candidates, former President Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
“When I think back to Obama vs. Hillary, that was something to watch at the time, right? But still, social media was kind of new. You didn’t have the ability to do the kind of digital video that you can now. And I do think that Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump have decided, in their minds, they’re the two to beat. And they want to beat each other up. Trump has spent about $15 million against DeSantis, and that had some effect. It drove DeSantis’ poll numbers way down. And that’s why you had some DeSantis supporters calling for him to get into the race earlier than he wanted to. He wanted to wait until the Florida legislative session was over so that he could then tout his accomplishments. So now, I think that was a fine decision, actually, by DeSantis. But he’s got some ground to make up because Trump has such a commanding lead. But Trump, they just bash each other like crazy. And it’s mostly online, like on Twitter. And sometimes they’re like even talking about each other’s staff because some staff left Trump and wanted to DeSantis. So there’s bad feelings there. And I’m basically sitting there going, but most Americans want to talk about inflation and immigration and crime.”
Plus, Dana and Jimmy discuss whether they believe Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has any chance of being a viable challenger to President Biden in the Democratic primaries. Listen to the podcast to hear what else she had to say!
