Retired NYPD inspector Paul Mauro joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to share his thoughts on Marine veteran Daniel Penny being charged with one count of second-degree manslaughter for the chokehold death of Jordan Neely, and how this case could impact future interactions in the New York City subway system.

“You know what bothers me very much? As somebody who’s married and lives in town, this is something you’re not supposed to notice and nobody’s supposed to say, but the vast majority of the victims are women. And, you know, you see these images of women and I’ve seen it in person where, you know, a working women going to work or coming home from work dressed well, etc., sitting there very ostentatiously clutching pepper spray as a signal. Don’t mess with me. So, I mean, this is how we choose to live now? And what’s supposed to be one of the leading cities of the Western world, if not the leading city of the Western world? We have a portion of our population who are terrified during their morning commute. Why are we paying what has got to be multiple billions, I don’t know what the final tab of it is, for a subway system on which the people who take it are scared and a big portion of the population simply won’t take it?”
