Co-Anchor of “America’s Newsroom” and co-host of “The Five” Dana Perino joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to share her thoughts on Florida earning the top overall top spot for education in the U.S. News & World Report for the first time ever.

“So we’ve been talking a lot about the nation’s report card, which just came out, for math reading for fourth and eighth graders, absolutely abysmal. But yesterday, we got the news that both history and civics tests are also way down, which means that nobody knows how our government functions, for example. So I think that for Florida to achieve that, that’s really wonderful and it says a lot about the direction of the state and how many people have moved there and they’re excited and energized and they want the best for their kids. Everybody wants the best for their kids. But in Florida, they’re really figuring out a way to do that. I will say that the Left has been very effective in talking about book banning. And I’m not saying that schools shouldn’t take a look at the books that are on the shelves in the library. They should. But when you go down that path, because conservatives, and it’s unfair, you always start in a hole in terms of credibility with the media, therefore, and the public. So you have to work extra hard to explain precisely what you are doing. That hasn’t been happening. If you look at the polling where you have independents and suburban moms in particular, they do not support overall book bans. So you have to explain it precisely. If you do that and you take the time to do that, you can win. Now DeSantis will do that. He’ll take the time to do it.”
