Anchor of “Fox News Sunday” Shannon Bream joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to give her take on the news that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is expected to launch a 2024 presidential exploratory committee next month.
“It means I’m about to announce that I’m running. Because, I’m sure it happens, but I can’t think of anybody out there who’s like, I am launching an exploratory committee. And then like three weeks later, we have explored and there’s no option for me, so I’m not actually going to run. I don’t know. You’d think that’s what an exploratory committee is supposed to do, but I’ve never actually heard somebody say we explored it and it’s a no go. And it does it does trigger FEC and fundraising and all kinds of other things, just like it did with President Biden when he said, I’m actually going to run again. That’s the next level, obviously. But when you’re a sitting officeholder and you announce that you’re running for something else, it affects a lot of things about how you pay for stops. Are they campaign stops or are they part of your job as president or governor? I mean, all kinds of things kick in. So this is the first step in that process.”
