Electricity Bills Based on Income in CA

California utility companies propose charging customers based on income.

Is this socialism? Feels a lot like socialism!

I’m Tomi Lahren, more next.

Folks, leave it to California to- once again- roll out some cockamamie plan to punish residents.

Three major California utility companies want to restructure customer billing and by “restructure” they mean charge higher income customers more.

This proposal includes a flat-rate charge based on income so monthly bills would have two parts, the fixed-income rate PLUS a reduced usage charge based on consumption.

So if you make over 180,000 a year your rate would be $85 per month but if you make less than $28,00 your bill would only be $15 per month.

This is all part of Assembly Bill 205 which passed last year and mandated these fixed-rate plans.

I don’t get it. Why should those who make more pay more just because they have more? We already have taxes for that!

This is yet another punishment based on success and it’s so California it hurts!
