South Carolina Republican Senator Tim Scott joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to shed light on how President Biden’s unrealistic $6.8 trillion budget proposal demonstrates just how little his administration understands about what is actually necessary to get the U.S. out of debt.
“One of the things I learned from my grandfather, who had a third-grade education, is don’t buy what you can’t afford. Don’t spend what you do not have. It’s a simple concept in the Book of Proverbs, Proverbs 22:7, that the borrower is slave to the lender. If you don’t want to be an indentured servant, don’t borrow money you can’t pay back. Why the federal government has $31 trillion of debt, for some of the most intelligent people in all of the world, they lack common sense. We should be ashamed of the prospects of the future if we allow President Biden to have another full term. It’s incredible to think that the greatest nation on God’s green Earth can’t figure out how to balance the budget. Oh, by the way, if you don’t have a balanced budget amendment, you simply can’t do it. And as a guy who was raised by a single mother with a grandfather who had a third-grade education, I thank God Almighty that they taught me the dignity of work. But they said, if you want to be motivated, first perspire, then be inspired and then go do something with it. Don’t expect anybody to bring it to you. Bring it to them. That’s the kind of attitude that has made America the most exceptional country on Earth. It’s not our government. It’s our people.”
