Professor of health policy at Stanford University Dr. Jay Bhattacharya joins Fox Across America With guest host Paul Gleiser to explain what the Great Barrington Declaration is, and shed light on how COVID-19 related lockdowns were excessive and unnecessary.

“We wrote it in October 2020. Me, Martin Kulldorff from Harvard University and Sunetra Gupta of Oxford University, all three of us epidemiologists. What we argued was that the collateral harms from the lockdowns that had been followed was causing tremendous damage, while they actually weren’t protecting anybody from getting COVID. I mean, at best it protected a certain class of people, you know, laptop class, while the rest of us got COVID, the rest of our population got COVID. And so we call for lifting of lockdowns and focus protection of vulnerable people, especially people who have a high risk of dying from COVID like elderly people. Much better protection for them, while lifting the lockdowns, removing the lockdown related damage. And that was it. That was the whole thing.”

Dr. Bhattacharya also discusses the harmful impacts remote learning had on our nation’s children. Listen to the podcast to hear what else he had to say!
