Tom Bevan: GOP Candidates Are Just Beginning To Make Their 2024 Calculations

Co-Founder and President of Realclearpolitics.com Tom Bevan joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to share his reaction to former U.N.  Ambassador Nikki Haley officially announcing the launch of her presidential campaign, and what this means for the race to secure the 2024 Republican nomination.

“Look, everybody’s making their own calculations. And for a person like Nikki Haley, maybe that’s, this was the wisest move for her to get the attention now. But I mean, all these candidates are weighing, some of them are laboring under the assumption that, they want to be the new fresh thing at the right moment in time. They don’t want to be out there too much, get their 15 minutes or whatever it’s going to be too early. And then they become yesterday’s news as some of these other candidates are getting in. I mean, DeSantis has still got his state legislative session going. So that’s a main concern of his. And, as to some of these other folks like, you know, Mike Pompeo seems like he’s definitely running. What are his calculations as to when he thinks is the best time to get in and get the maximum attention but still have some staying power? Maybe he’s thinking it’s next month. It could be a few months from now. So it just depends for each individual candidate what they’re trying to accomplish.”
