This past Friday, the Memphis Police Department released video evidence that showed five Memphis police officers beating 29-year-old Black man, Tyre Nichols, to death. Body cam footage eventually revealed Nichols peacefully complying as he was punched and kicked repeatedly. Those five officers involved in the incident were fired and charged with second-degree murder and kidnapping.
