Brian Brenberg: We Are Well Beyond Pairing Back The IRS
Econ Professor at The King’s College in New York City Brian Brenberg joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to give his take on a bill House Republicans are set to vote on which would abolish the Internal Revenue Service and eliminate the national income tax.
“The problem, is taxes are never about taxes. In a progressive scheme like we have with all these carve outs and exemptions, it’s actually not about the tax revenue. The guys who love the progressive tax scheme, they don’t care about tax revenue. They can borrow whatever they need. All they care about is the power to control what you do. And the only way you can do that is if you get to write the carve outs and the exemptions and you get to fiddle with the rates. It’s not about taxes, it’s about power. So reforming the tax code isn’t about taxes. It’s about the balance of who governs who in this society. Is it self-government or is it those guys in the IRS building who might be very, very friendly and chummy? But the only reason he’s laughing is because he knows his job is not going away and his salary is not going away, and you’re going to pay some.”
Brian also tells Jimmy about the launch of his upcoming Fox Business program, “The Big Money Show”. Listen to the podcast to hear what else he had to say!
