Rep. Jim Jordan: Last Week’s Contentious House Speaker Vote Is Exactly What The Founding Fathers Wanted
Ohio Republican Congressman Jim Jordan joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to share his thoughts on last week’s contentious vote for House Speaker, and why he believes this prolonged process was a good thing for the country.
“This is what the founders wanted. Better to have debate in the open for the country, the taxpayers, the citizens to see, than to have all these deals that get cut behind closed doors come out and everything. Let’s have the debate. For once, there was all the members of the Congress on the floor actually listening to debate, actually listen to people give a speech. We hardly ever have that. There’s only of a handful of people there during the debate and then everyone comes on the floor votes. So this is exactly how Jefferson and Adams and these guys wanted it to work. It’s called checks and balances, transparency. So the people, we the people, have our liberties protected.”
Rep. Jordan also slams President Biden for accusing GOP lawmakers of doing nothing to fix the crisis at our Southern border. Listen to the podcast to hear what else he had to say!
