What the Heck, Southwest?!

Thousands of flights cancelled, thousands stranded at airports, thousands who missed the holiday with their loved ones.

Southwest, it’s time to face the music!

It’s a tale as old as time, airlines mass cancel flights and then blame it on weather, whether or not there’s “weather” or not.

Over the holiday weekend and stretching on into this week, Southwest has cancelled a majority of their flights- roughly 63% as of Tuesday.

And the airline’s CEO is scrambling, asking- or rather BEGGING- employees to come to work.

Customers are being told not to expect to make it to their destinations for days as their bags are either lost or stranded in airports willy-nilly.

It’s a travel nightmare that’s becoming all too common these days.

Southwest says it’ll “honor reasonable requests for reimbursement for meals, hotel, and alternate transportation,” according to its website, as long as passengers can provide a receipt to match.

That takes a lot of nerve, Southwest. You should be bending over backwards to make this up to your customers!

I’m not a regulation hawk but if there was ever an appropriate time for the government to step in and demand accountability, it’s now and with these airlines.

Someone needs to be held accountable and it’s NOT WE the customer!
