Word of the Year

Collins Dictionary has selected its 2022 word of the year and it couldn’t be more fitting.

I’m Tomi Lahren, find out next.

“The feeling of living through a period of war, inflation, and political instability.” Sound familiar? Well that’s the definition of “permacrisis,” Collins Dictionary 2022 word of the year. It was first used in academic context in the 1970s, but it has 2022 written all over it!

This word- which sums up not only 2022 but the entirety of Biden’s tenure in office- topped the dictionaries compilation of words and phrases this year, for obvious reasons.

From inflation, to gas prices, worker shortages, domestic and international turmoil and more, it seems we will never get out of this rut, this PERMACRISIS.

Another notable word on the list is “quiet quitting”- the subtle art of young people doing less at work and putting in the bare minimum effort.

These words and phrases are certainly not positive but let’s just hope we can start to dig our way out of the “permacrisis” one election at a time!

Until then, “dumpster fire” is another word that tops my list!
