Paul Mauro: New York Has A Crime Crisis But Hochul Doesn’t Want To Change Anything

Former NYPD inspector Paul Mauro joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to share his reaction to New York Governor Kathy Hochul dismissing her Republican opponent Lee Zeldin’s assertion that locking up violent criminals should be a priority.

These sort of gotcha moments are sometimes not entirely fair. But in this case, I think it’s quite revealing. I think taken in the context of her entire performance, it’s very clear, if nothing else, forget all the fine points, if nothing else, it’s very clear that Hochul doesn’t want to change anything. That alone is very, very apparent. And that quote really puts an exclamation point on that. She’s for the status quo. She doesn’t actually see the problem. She gives it a certain lip service. But she very smugly says, no, you know, this is what we are. This is who we are. New York is going to vote for a Democrat. This is what we’re going to have. And essentially stop making waves. And obviously, I think a lot of the electorate is not there. But that’s very clearly where she is.”

Paul also gives his take on Hochul and New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ plans to increase police presence in NYC’s subway system. Listen to the podcast to hear what else he had to say!
