Dana Perino: Why Crist’s Attacks On DeSantis Don’t Seem To Be Working
Co-anchor of “America’s Newsroom” Dana Perino joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to share some of her takeaways from the first and only debate between Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis and his Democratic challenger, former Congressman Charlie Crist.
“One of the things he really focused on last night is, he thinks that people are not going to vote for Ron DeSantis to be governor because DeSantis might choose to run for president in 2024. In the history of politics, I actually don’t know if that has ever worked. I’ll give you an example. George W. Bush ran for reelection (for Governor of Texas) in 1998, wins reelection and then went on to run for president right then. I mean, it does happen. It’s natural. And DeSantis is a very popular governor. So of course he’s traveling the country to help other Republicans. And if Crist was in the same position, and I’m sure when he was a Republican governor, he did the same thing.”
Plus, Dana tells Jimmy about her episode of the Fox Business series “American Dynasty”, which is titled “The Bushes”. She also recalls a few memorable stories from her time working as the White House press secretary under President George W. Bush. Listen to the podcast to hear what else she had to say!
