Rep. Andy Biggs: This Unsealed Affidavit Proves The Raid Of Mar-a-Lago Was Way Overkill

Arizona Republican Congressman Andy Biggs joins Fox Across America With guest host Sean Duffy to give his take on what was not redacted in the unsealed affidavit that the FBI used to conduct a raid on former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home earlier this month.

“Normally you would, in a civil type of action like this, which is what it should be, you would be looking at a subpoena, not a raid with basically swatted out officers coming in with a general warrant. And so far, everything I’ve seen indicates that they were talking about NARA,  which is really the National Archives Retention Act. So they were basically talking about something that was, in my opinion, a civil matter. And yet they’ve elevated it to this criminal event. And so it makes it look like exactly what I think it is. It was a political matter, not a real legitimate FBI investigation matter. So, there’s a lot going on here, but as I’ve gone through this the affidavit really doesn’t tell me that much as far as what they’re really after. But if it really is a records retention thing, as it says here under the probable cause section of the affidavit, then it was way overkill, way beyond the scope, in my opinion.”

Rep. Biggs also tells Sean why he believes Congress needs to look into the practices of the FBI and its lack of transparency. Listen to the podcast to hear what else he had to say!
