Kevin Walling: The American People Will Ultimately Decide If Biden Should Run For Reelection
Democratic strategist Kevin Walling joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to share his reaction to a new poll which finds 75 percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning Independents don’t want President Biden to be their party’s nominee in 2024.
Listen, he’s 79 years old. That speaks for itself. And the American people are going to decide whether he should run again. I mean, he’s going to have a conversation with Jill about it and his family to decide that. But listen, I quasi grew up in Delaware. I love the guy. I’m a Biden guy going back from when I was a kid. So I’m never going to say an uncouth thing about him. I think he’s doing a pretty good job. But I think those numbers are reflective of everyone’s frustration. I mean, President Trump’s numbers are down. Congressional Republicans’ numbers are down. Everyone is miserable in this country when it comes to inflation, when it comes to ongoing COVID. And the surest reflection of that with any Commander in Chief is that job approval rating. So you look at history, Ronald Reagan had terrible numbers in ’82 as the oldest then-president. Bill Clinton had even worse numbers in ’94 in that midterm election. So it’s always the case often, that Republicans, Democrats sour on that president two years in and want to see someone else.”
Kevin also tells Jimmy why it would be good for Democrats if former President Trump declares he is running again in 2024. To hear what else he had to say, listen to the podcast!
