Ice Cream Outbreak
A Florida-based ice creamery that has been linked to a listeria outbreak is refusing to issue a recall.
The folks at the CDC haven’t been my favorites in the last couple of years but if there were ever a time to step in, it’s now.
I’m Tomi Lahren, more next.
A family-run ice cream maker in Sarasota, Florida “Big Olaf Creamery” has been linked to a listeria outbreak that has killed at least 2 people and sickened many others.
Yet, the maker appears to be resisting calls from the health department to suspend sales and halt production.
The Florida Department of Health doesn’t have the authority to stop them, either.
In a July 3rd Facebook post, Big Olaf said the outbreak linked to them is just “speculation” and that it can’t be confirmed their company is the source.
The company apparently warned some stores not to sell the product but it’s still out there.
Look, I get that the investigation is ongoing, but in the meantime, why continue to run the risk of sickening or even KILLING your consumers?
This company has 15 licensed creameries and the product is available everywhere from senior homes to fairs and supermarkets.
It saddens me to see any mom-and-pop shop close its doors, but this is just going too far!
You scream, I scream, we all scream for SAFE ICE CREAM!
