After Fentanyl Killed Their Son, They Made It Their Mission To Save Lives

2021 marked the deadliest year for Americans dying from drug overdoses, with the death toll surpassing 100,000 according to the CDC. As the overdose numbers climb, reports show most of these deaths involve a potent synthetic opioid like fentanyl.

Even more tragically, many fentanyl-related deaths are accidental as the drug is sometimes used in counterfeit prescription pills.

That is how Chris and Laura Didier lost one of their children Zach. He bought a knockoff Percocet from someone online and died shortly after taking it.

Recently on the FOX News Rundown, Chris and Laura Didier joined host Chris Foster to share Zach’s story and explain why they now speak out on this topic in hopes to educate families.

The Didiers, who were recently featured on the Fox News Media special, ‘Fentanyl: The Poisoning of America, discussed how easy it was for children to get counterfeit drugs and why even those without a history of substance abuse could fall victim.

Due to time limitations, we could not include all of the conversation in our original segment. On the FOX News Rundown Extra, you will hear the entire discussion with Chris and Laura Didier, plus an interview with FOX News medical contributor Dr. Marc Seigel, that could not be included in our story. Dr. Siegel discusses what fentanyl is intended for, why it is so potent, and how he thinks we can prevent overdoses.
