Parkland Dad On How To Protect Our Schools From ‘Evil’
Ryan Petty’s daughter Alaina was murdered during the 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Since then, Petty has been an advocate for his daughter’s legacy and trying to make schools safer.
Earlier this week, Ryan Petty joined FOX News Rundown host Jessica Rosenthal to discuss Wednesday’s House Oversight Committee hearing on gun violence, the ongoing debate over guns, and how best to prevent school mass shootings.
While the Parkland shooting led to some new gun laws in Florida that Petty supported, he explained why it was a bad idea to use that law as a model for a federal bill. He also discussed how we can better address the mental health of potentially violent people and why he is critical of how the police responded to the Uvalde shooting.
Due to time limitations, we could not include all of the conversations within our original segment. On the FOX News Rundown Extra, you will hear the entire discussion with Ryan Petty and hear more of his gut-wrenching story and his unique take on how best to protect our children.
