Rep. Ken Buck: Democrats Will Continue To Find Opportunities To Undermine The Second Amendment
Colorado Republican Congressman Ken Buck joins Fox Across America With guest host Sean Duffy to discuss the House of Representatives passing a wide-ranging bill focused on gun control, and what he thinks the Democratic Party’s endgame is when it comes to this issue.
“They have targeted the Second Amendment for a long time. The Supreme Court in Heller really put an end to one of their strategies, and now they’re just going to keep really taking their opportunities. If Republicans thought that it would have a chance to counter some of the crisis in Chicago, the crisis in other major cities where failed Democrat policies are leading to this extreme violence, it would be one thing, but it won’t. And when we get back to some fundamental changes, we have the ability, for example, to harden the schools. We have the ability to encourage veterans to go into teaching and have those veterans trained. They’re certainly trained with guns at this point, but trained in sort of police tactics in schools. We have a lot of good strategies that Republicans have offered. They’ve been shot down. And we will offer again, I can remember in the Judiciary Committee markup on this particular bill, the Democrats kept saying, ‘why are you Republicans always saying that more guns in the hands of good guys will stop bad guys from using guns. Well, the truth is that every year in America, more than 100,000 crimes are prevented as a result of good guys having guns. And we just need to make sure that we are protecting those who are the most vulnerable.”
Plus, Rep. Buck explains why we should focus more of our attention on the breakdown of the family, which he says has played a significant role in the majority of mass shootings. To hear what else he had to say, listen to the podcast!
