Peter Navarro: The Consequences Of Our Justice System Being Politicized
Former Trump White House economic adviser Peter Navarro joins Fox Across America With guest host Sean Duffy to talk about his recent arrest for defying a subpoena from the House select committee investigating the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol, and why he feels this entire process has been politicized by the Democrats.
“It was originally envisioned as a bipartisan, bicameral commission that would have had five Democrats, five Republicans, Democrat chair, Republican vice chair. I think that President Trump would have gladly cooperated with such a commission because there’s real issues as to what happened on January 6th. But the issues, I think that the real ones are, why did Nancy Pelosi allow the perimeter to be so likely guarded? Was the FBI having informants there instigating the violence as there’s plenty of press coverage to indicate that that was true? Why did Mark Esper, the Secretary of Defense, have the National Guard so far away that they couldn’t do rapid response? We didn’t get that commission. The Congress couldn’t agree on that. So Pelosi unilaterally decided to form a committee and Kevin McCarthy was asked to put the number of members on it for the Republican side, including the ranking minority member, which matters for a reason. And Pelosi rejected every single person that McCarthy put forward. And so there’s no ranking minority member on that committee. Now right there, that means that committee has no legal power to issue or enforce subpoenas full stop, because both the House resolution and the authorizing resolution for that committee say that those are the rules. No ranking minority member, no subpoenas.”
