It has been nearly three months since Ukraine was invaded by Russia.

Thousands are dead, cities are destroyed and there appears to be no resolution in sight.

The two key figures in the conflict are Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladmir Putin.

Recently, on the FOX News Rundown: War on Ukraine podcast, host Eben Brown spoke to former DIA intelligence officer Rebekah Koffler to help get a better understanding of what motivates both leaders and how they rose to power.

Koffler, who is the author of “Putin’s Playbook: Russia’s Secret Plan To Defeat America,” has also written the foreword to the new book, “Zelensky: The Unlikely Ukrainian Hero.” She gave incredible insight into both men’s backgrounds and why she thinks Russia’s invasion has been so disastrous for Putin so far.

Due to time limitations, we could not include all of the conversation in our original segment. On the FOX News Rundown Extra, you will hear the entire discussion with author Rebekah Koffler and hear more of her perspective on the Ukraine conflict and the two men at the center of it.
