Most of the world had speculated that Russian President Vladimir Putin would use his ‘Victory Day’ speech to announce an escalation in the invasion of Ukraine but that did not happen. Instead, the authoritarian leader continued to promote the idea that Ukraine is in the grips of a new Nazi threat.
