Listen To The Full Interview Below:

General Jack Keane is a retired 4 star general, the chairman of the Institute for the Study of War and Fox News Senior Strategic Analyst joined the Guy Benson Show to discuss the war in Ukraine and the battle for the port city of Mariupol.

General Keane commented on the fight for Mariupol saying,

“So when they attacked Mariupol from the land and also from the sea, they put naval infantry in there as well. They saw that as as very critical to their overall success in Ukraine. Certainly, the number one city is obviously the capital, and they failed at that. But Mariupol, being a coastal city, once they take that and technically, while it’s not in their hands yet, de facto it truly is. And then they have a land bridge all the way from from Russia to Crimea through Ukraine. And that is a strategic objective that they wanted to achieve back in 2014, and they were not able to because of the resistance of the Ukrainians. So it’s very important to them.”
