The morning of Tuesday, April 12th, a man threw smoke bombs and opened fire on a New York City subway train in Brooklyn. While 10 people were wounded in the attack, miraculously, nobody was killed. The following day, the shooting suspect was taken into NYPD custody and is facing federal terrorism charges. Many are concerned about increasing crime in major U.S. cities. Howard Safir, former NYPD commissioner and Chairman of Safir Intelligence and Security, joins the Rundown to discuss the NYPD’s response to the attack, bail reform and the justice system, and how he thinks the city should approach its homelessness problem.
