Could the President’s Comments Escalate Ukraine Conflict?
Millions have been displaced by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and while Ukrainian forces continue to defend areas such as Kyiv, civilians in cities such as Mariupol are now trapped in its ruins struggling to survive. Congressman Mark Green (R-TN) just returned from a trip to the Ukrainian border. He joins the Rundown to discuss the stories of refugees he met there, the possibility of a no-fly zone over Ukraine, and why he’s troubled by President Biden’s recent words stating Russian President Vladimir Putin “cannot remain in power.”
March 30th will mark the two-year anniversary of the U.S. enacting the public health policy of Title 42, which gave U.S. border agents the power to remove anyone entering the country illegally to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said last week the organization is in the process of reviewing this policy. As the Biden administration faces pressure to end this order, both Democrat senators from Arizona Kryrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly have cautioned the President against ending Title 42 without a comprehensive plan to prevent border communities from being overwhelmed. Fox News Senior National Correspondent William La Jeunesse joins to explain how Title 42 has functioned under the Trump and Biden administrations, how the removal of the policy could impact U.S. Border Patrol and why Congressional lawmakers are divided on the continued use of Title 42.
