Charles McBee: Comedians No Longer Need Hollywood To Be Successful

Comedian and head writer for “Tha God’s Honest Truth With Charlamagne Tha God” Charles McBee joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to discuss the downfall of Hollywood, and how entertainers are beginning to recognize the irrelevancy of that industry.

“Listen, we get our power back by just finally getting to a point where one, we stop apologizing but also two, we are reaching a point in entertainment where comedians are no longer beholden to Hollywood and beholden to a TV show. You talk to any current comic who’s popping, none of us care about a TV show or a sitcom. That used to be the goal, to get a sitcom. Now we’re like, sitcom? What am I, Fred Flintstone? What is this, 1963? So now it takes that power back. So shout out to the Dave Chappelle’s and Andrew Schultz’s and the people who are being successful off a straight up comedy the way they want to do it. I think that’s the new wave that we’re going in.”

Plus, Charles gives Jimmy his take on the fallout from Will Smith slapping Chris Rock during Sunday night’s Oscars. To hear what else he had to say, listen to the podcast!
