Rep. Markwayne Mullin: Changes Must Be Made To Title IX To Protect Women’s Sports And Even The Playing Field

Oklahoma Republican Congressman Markwayne Mullin joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to shed light on the unfairness of the NCAA allowing transgender athletes such as University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas to compete against biological women.

“Think about my daughters, when they go wrestle and they start stepping on the mat as biological women, meaning they were born a woman, competing against a biological man who was born a man and transitioned to a woman. But your body structure, your muscle tone, the testosterone has already entered your body at one time or another. And now they’re supposed to compete there. That’s dangerous. That’s when people get hurt. You’re not just losing races, but you’re going to get hurt. And that’s not what Title IX was about. Title IX was supposed to give the ability for all athletes, male and female, to compete on an even playing field against their peers. A biological man is not a peer in competitive sports to a biological woman. That’s not competitive and they’re not competing on the same level. And what we need is female athletes to start standing up and take back their sport.”
