Amid Ukraine Invasion, Project Dynamo Works To Rescue Americans and Allies
After months of tension, Russia launched a full-scale military invasion into Ukraine in late February. President Putin has unleashed air assaults on bustling urban areas of Ukraine such as the city of Kharkiv, leading many to fear for their lives. As families attempt to leave the country, a brave group of volunteers has ventured into dangerous territory to help save lives.
Bryan Stern is the co-founder of Project Dynamo, a Tampa-based non-profit which aims to help Americans and allies abroad escape war-torn countries such as Ukraine. He spoke to Dave Anthony about the challenges he faces as he evacuates people from a country under siege.
Bryan also discusses Project Dynamo’s previous efforts to rescue Americans trapped in Afghanistan following the Taliban’s takeover in 2021 and how that experience prepared him for his current mission.
