Lara Trump: President Biden Should Have Followed His Predecessor’s Lead On Trying To Make The U.S. Energy Independent
Fox News contributor Lara Trump joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to discuss Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and why the conflict is proof the U.S. must become energy independent.
In light of what is happening in Eastern Europe, several Republican lawmakers are urging President Biden to stop relying on Moscow for oil. Lara says this is something former President Trump forcefully advocated for during his time in office.
“Oil is a big deal. And you know who knew that is Donald Trump. That’s why he opened up the Keystone XL pipeline. That’s why he made sure that Nord Stream 2 wasn’t fully available to be opened up to the Europeans because now you see the position, and he warned everybody about this. He was mocked in 2018 for warning Germany, if you’re too reliant on Russian oil, it’s going to put you in a bad spot. And look at the spot they’re in now. Look at the stranglehold that Vladimir Putin and Russia has on Europe, on most of the world. So why wouldn’t we want to make it ourselves here? Why wouldn’t we want to be energy independent? None of it makes any sense. You know, they always talk about climate change and it being greener. Well, the trucks that are having to transport the oil that we’re having shipped to our country across America are causing much more issue with the environment than a pipeline would. None of it makes sense. But yet again, just another reason we’ve got to have somebody that’s got some common sense in there. A lot of people say that would be Donald Trump.”
Later, Founder and Executive Director of Power The Future Daniel Turner breaks down the issues with the Biden administration being overly reliant on Russia for oil imports. PLUS, Co-Host of “Fox and Friends First” Todd Piro stops by to give Jimmy an update on the situation in Ukraine.
