Tomorrow’s Daytona 500 is seen as the Super Bowl of stock racing, some of the world’s top drivers will kick off the NASCAR cup series in what is the sport’s biggest race.
But getting the opportunity to be one of the 40 competitors there is a long, hard journey.
A new FOX Nation four-part documentary, “Road to Daytona,” highlights Spire Motorsports and how one of the smaller, newer teams in the Cup Series prepared for this weekend’s big event.
Kevin Bellicourt is the team’s crew chief and he joined host Chris Foster on the FOX News Rundown earlier this week to discuss the sport, what it takes to make it to the top, and why the Daytona 500 is so special.
He also discussed NASCAR’s new “Next Gen” car which he says will make things even more exciting for fans.
