FOX News Rundown EXTRA: An Unusual Approach To Combating Chicago’s Crime Crisis

Violent crime is on the rise in many American cities.

Especially in Chicago.

There, 2021 was the deadliest year the city has seen in a quarter-century with 797 homicides, more than any other city in the U.S. Other crimes such as sexual assault, theft, and burglary are on an upward path as well, leaving Chicago residents concerned about their safety.

To bring attention to his city’s crisis, Pastor Corey Brooks decided to spend 100 nights on a rooftop in Chicago. Brooks is spending time talking to people whose lives were touched by crime. He also hopes to raise money in order to create a community center that he thinks could curb the problem.

Earlier his week on the Rundown, he joined host Dave Anthony from that rooftop to talk about his mission, the potential for change in the community, his belief in the American Dream.

The pastor opens up about his faith and how it led him to his current project.
