The truckers, calling themselves the “Freedom Convoy,” have blocked a major Canada-US border crossing and now reports say American truckers are weighing forming a convoy of their own to bring to Washington D.C. 2021 was the deadliest year Chicago’s seen in a quarter-century with 797 homicides, more than any other city in the U.S.  Other crimes such as sexual assault, theft, and burglary are on an upward path as well, leaving Chicago residents concerned about their safety.  Many are frustrated with the lack of action from Mayor Lori Lightfoot and other politicians.  Pastor Corey Brooks is taking a different approach to preventing the culture of violence in the city.  By spending 100 nights on a rooftop in Chicago, Brooks hopes to raise money in order to create a community center.  He joins the Rundown to talk about the potential for change in the community, his belief in the American Dream, and how his faith led him to his current project.
