Senator Marsha Blackburn: Why The United States Should Have Boycotted The Winter Olympics In Beijing
Tennessee Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to explain why she believes it was wrong for the U.S. to send its athletes to Beijing for the Winter Olympics.
Several countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia have announced a diplomatic boycott of this year’s Olympic Games because of human rights violations by the Chinese Communist Party. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is warning athletes from our country not to risk angering the CCP while they are competing overseas.
Senator Blackburn thinks the Biden administration did not go far enough in sending a strong message to the Chinese government.
“Where was Nancy Pelosi for the past year as I’ve been saying, let’s not send our athletes? Let’s have the U.S.A. Freedom Games right here so that they can compete, but let’s not send them there where they’re going to be surveilled. We don’t know what may happen to their health. We do not know, if they speak out, if they will disappear them like they’ve done with Peng Shuai. We don’t know what could happen to them. We do know that they can’t take their electronics. We do know that the burner phones that they are being given have to be downloaded with an app where they will use the digital you want. They’ll be able to call and communicate with people, but we also know the Chinese Communist Party will be surveying every single bit of that.”
The Tennessee Senator also discusses the negative consequences of the Biden administration’s lack of action at the U.S. Southern border.
Plus, Fox Business Anchor Dagen McDowell stops by to talk about the ongoing fallout from Jeff Zucker’s ouster at CNN. Plus, she and Jimmy share their thoughts on the backlash Spotify has received for their relationship with podcast host Joe Rogan.
