Former NYPD Commissioner Howard Safir: Ghost Guns Are Infinitesimal Compared To The Amount Of Guns Already In New York City

Howard Safir, former New York City Police Commissioner, spoke to Brian Kilmeade about President Biden’s trip to New York City. Safir says President Biden ordering the Justice Department to regulate “ghost guns” misses the problem facing New York City. Safir says the amount of ghost guns is infinitesimal compared to the amount of guns that are already there. According to Safir it is not about stopping guns coming into New York because there are probably more guns in New York than people. Safir believes guns are not the primary issue as far as regulating gun dealers, the primary issue is getting guns out of the hands of criminals who already have them. On New York City Mayor Eric Adams, Safir is hopeful that Eric Adams will be able to get some things done. Safir feels the problem is Adams is only one-third of the criminal justice system and has to send his arrests to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg who says he’s only going to prosecute selective crimes.
