President Biden Facing Down Tensions With Russia As Omicron Surges
Besides its effort to deal with the growing COVID crisis domestically, the White House is also being forced to deal with potential conflicts overseas. President Biden talked again last week with Russian lead Vladimir Putin, who has built up troops at Ukraine’s border and has threatened war. Meanwhile, hostility with Iran continues to increase as the US tries to rejoin the Iran nuclear deal. Former CIA Director and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo discusses our escalating tensions with Russia, Iran and what the Biden Administration must do to address both challenges.
The FDA has now authorized COVID-19 boosters for children ages 12-15, as cases of the Omicron variant have been rising in kids as well as adults. Dr. Marc Siegel, Professor of Medicine at NYU Langone Health and Fox News Medical Contributor joins to discuss why Omicron remains a concern in the U.S. and he emphasizes we have the tools to combat this surge. He analyzes how underlying conditions and case severity are important factors when discussing childrens’ rising cases, the role pediatricians should play in communicating the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine, mitigation strategies the Biden administration must improve upon and the changing CDC guidance on quarantine timing.
