From Washington: A Different Kind Of New Years Resolution

This week we look back at two fascinating interviews from the past year.

In July of this year, Jared spoke with Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) to discuss President Biden’s plea to Republicans to support the foundation of his infrastructure bill initiative. Nearly five months since President Biden’s Build Better Bill began its journey to Congress, Sen. Joe Manchin’s (D-WV) refusal to accept the bill has signaled a halt in the forward momentum of this initiative. We revisit the differences between the bi-partisan infrastructure bill and the mostly partisan social spending bill.

In April of this year, the U.S. had averaged 3-million coronavirus vaccines a day. Despite the growing optimism about more Americans getting vaccinated, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky then expressed fears of “impending doom” after an uptick of COVID-19 cases. Jared spoke with Dr. Francis Collins, former Director of the National Institute of Health regarding his take on the CDC Director’s warning and if he shared the same fear. Plus, what he thinks success looks like at the end of the pandemic.
